The Accounting Manager is responsible for the administration and oversight of the Accounting and Accounts Payable functions. The Accounting Manager holds primary responsibility for the day-to-day execution of a wide range of assigned accounting practices, which include, financial accounting and reporting, accounting systems administration, audit management, tax compliance, vendor invoice and remittance processing, disbursements management, internal controls management and enforcement, and implementation and execution of accounting policy in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Accounting Manager works independently with minimal supervision and has authority to make decisions of a routine nature within prescribed operating guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the work of Accounting and Accounts Payable staff through review and approval of assigned activities.
- Manage personnel and individual development of assigned staff, including hiring team members, coaching, and administering ongoing performance reviews.
- Oversee coordination of the global month-end close of the financial systems and global consolidated reporting:
- Assure adherence to month-end close schedules and deadlines.
- Manage Accounting Supervisor and staff in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for domestic and international entities in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Provide review oversight of the financial statements to assure accuracy and fair presentation of business results.
- Lead the development, documentation, implementation, and update of processes, controls, procedures and policies for the company’s accounting and financial reporting.
- Assure proper oversight for administration of the Accounting System, including configuration and maintenance of the general ledger chart of accounts, currency exchange rates, and period close status.
- Oversee the compilation and evaluation of various accruals and reserves to ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the program of regular account reviews and the overall monthly trial balance review, ensuring accuracy.
- Serve as lead and primary liaison to external partners for coordination of audits of the Company’s records.
- Partner with the Accounting Supervisor to conduct ongoing reviews and performance audits of key business processes to ensure data integrity and security within the general ledger.
- Oversee compliance with local statutory and tax reporting requirements.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function, coordinating with the AP Supervisor to maintain vendor invoice and disbursement control and rational cash management
- Regularly interface with other departments to provide high levels of customer service and insight for results of operations.
- Assure maintenance of inventory standard costs and related aspects of product master records and accounting.
- Lead departmental projects, reporting and improvement efforts, as well as other ad hoc duties as assigned.

- Working knowledge of US GAAP, including capability to implement standards updates in the company’s accounting & reporting.
- Proven effectiveness in leading and developing senior-level Accounting/AP staff.
- Employee may reasonably be expected to work additional hours as determined by job responsibilities, particularly during month-end closes and audits.
- Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance with an emphasis in Accounting, or proven accounting proficiency and acumen developed from extended accounting practice in industry
- Solid history of experience working for organizations exceeding $100 Million + in revenue
- CPA license strongly preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of general ledger experience, or 3 – 4 years of experience with a
“Big 4” / large CPA firm with public/private mix and at least two years general ledger experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; advanced level preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience within a corporate accounting function.
- ERP systems management required (Oracle a strong plus)
